When Have tried to repair corrupted Windows Image using DISM repair tool and received the error :  0x800f0906

Below are the details after running the Windows Component tool:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031

Error: 0x800f0906

The source files could not be downloaded.
Use the source option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Do not know how can I fix it. The laptop has been bought with the system installed without  separate installation disc.

You need to download & mount an OS image to use the "sources" switch

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess  Where "X" is the drive letter where the ISO is located.  Simply change the "X" to the correct drive letter

Thanks for your reply. Shall I use recovery patrition - in my laptop Lenovo Z-710 have such patrition but not so sure if it is on the driver C, probably yes. Generally for system recovery it is used application OneKey Recovery located on disc C.

Shall I put letter "C" on the place "X" ?

Ewa, Zigzag is correct X will = ISO/DVD Drive letter when mounted.

Recovery from C drive and fixing store corruption are unrelated, I think you are mixing yourself up Ewa.

i.e if ISO mounts on D:/

"DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:D:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess "

DISM tool will try to repair corrupt files with the original files from the install sources, That's why Install.wim is used.

I have the problem with /online option, when I load with DVD Windows 8.1 disk.

I try to make  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /sourse:WIM:f:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

But unfortunately I got message - DISM doesn't support  Windows PE servicing with online option

How can I restore my OS, if no one option  like reset; refresh; boot restart weren't successful.
